★What is auricular acupuncture(Ear Reflexology)?

Originally stimulation of the ears as a form of therapeutic treatment was a tradition born in Ancient China. But in 1956,  Dr Paul Nogier of France noticed some of his patients presenting with cauterisation points on their ears to provide relief from back pain. As Dr Nogier discovered the close relationship between the external ear and internal organs based on his experiments, what grew from a traditional remedy became auricular acupuncture. In Japan, the search continued for a new method based on Dr Nogier’s principles that combines health with beauty, and the result by attaching adhesive jewellery to pressure points is what is now known as auricular acupuncture(Ear Reflexology).

The ear is one of the smallest parts of our body but it possesses an incredible 110 trigger points.

The ear is an image of the body in a foetal position.

Remedies that made use of the ear’s trigger points have existed since ancient times. Only recently have auricular acupuncture points been assembled into a formal WHO-certified discipline. Compared to other acupuncture techniques, the ear’s thinness helps bring about effects such as pain relief, relaxation and a stronger immune system.
